Rome Shopping Tour

Your special full day Rome shopping tour, entirely dedicated to shopping in the Capital, will have as a starting point Rome-Fiumicino “Leonardo da Vinci” Airport. An NCC (limousine service) driver at your complete disposal will take you to the center of Rome in your rented private car.

You’ll be accompanied in one of the world’s most famous metropolitan places for its important connection with high fashion: Piazza di Spagna. At the center of the piazza there’s the famous Fontana della Barcaccia (Fountain of the Old Boat) (1627-29), a work by Pietro Bernini, father of Gian Lorenzo. As a scenographic background is the Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti (Spanish Steps), an exceptional monumental and architectural complex, formed by 138 steps. During your tour you’ll have the opportunity to admire from above the spectacular urban landscape offered by the famous Steps, designed during the 18th century by Alessandro Specchi and Francesco de Sanctis. The long descent is also renowned as one of the most loved locations for the most important fashion shows by Italian fashion houses, from Valentino to Gattinoni, from Laura Biagiotti to Fendi, from Gucci to Armani, from Dolce&Gabbana to Krizia.

The most famous Italian fashion designers have a boutique in Rome, in particular in Via Condotti, an elegant street that extends just in front of Piazza di Spagna, but also in parallel streets, such as Via Borgognona, Via delle Carrozze, and in side streets, such as Via Bocca di Leone. Here, for example, during the shopping tours you’ll be able to visit Gianni Versace’s showroom and Valentino’s boutique. Besides the great “made in Italy” brands you’ll also find the most well known foreign brands, such as the timeless Chanel and Donna Karan, the American fashion designer that dresses Hilary Clinton. If you’re interested in buying a bag or a classy suitcase you’ll be able to visit the boutiques of Trussardi, Nazareno Gabrielli, Louis Vuitton, Furla; if you love jewels, women’s best “friends”, you’ll find the sumptuous jewelries of Bulgari, Damiani, Pomellato, and many other great brands.

Of course you’ll be able to stop in one of the most characteristic places of the Capital for a coffee break and later for lunch. You’ll taste and be able to buy typical Italian food and wine products, and then continue your shopping tour in Rome.

Reading enthusiasts will be able to shop in huge bookstores, which have in stock thousands of titles, and in specialized libraries, such as the Orpheus library in Via Monte della Farina, dedicated to classical music and opera. Carrying on exploring the area around Piazza di Spagna, in Via del Babuino, Via del Corso, Via Sistina and Via Margutta, a street very well known to collectors, you’ll find important art galleries and antique shops, such as Galleria Veneziani, Antichità Rogai and the Rappaport antique library. In Via Campo di Mazio 53 there’s the oldest haberdashery in Rome, “Il Camiciaio”, where the elegant Roman ladies went to adorn their dresses and hats with rooster feathers, fragrant silk flowers and ostrich feathers.

If the tour takes place on Sunday, you’ll be able to be accompanied by the chauffeur at your disposal to the most famous market in the Capital, the one of Porta Portese. It’s open from dawn to 15:00 and has about 2,000 exhibitors. You’ll be able to find interesting antiques and collectibles: photographs, stamps, antique furniture and valuable ornaments. Other markets in Rome are: the Portaportese 2, the flea market of Borgo Parioli, the Garage Sale, the flea market of Villa Chigi and the one of Ponte Milvio, that also offers a great occasion to have a walk along the Lungotevere. You’ll be able to consult with us to choose the most suitable market to include in your shopping tours plan. If, for example, you’re interested in more convenient shopping, getting out of the city center, we can also take you to one of the many shopping malls in Rome, where you’ll find thousands of shops with the most famous Italian and foreign brands. At just a few kilometers from the Capital there’s also the Valmontone Outlet Fashion District, where you’ll be able to shop at really interesting prices.

At the end of the Rome shopping tour, transfer to the airport or overnight stay in a hotel in Rome.
